The first piece in the current body of work, “Storey” explores observations of her city, responding to its architecture, social intricacies and her place within its boundaries. It is an allusion to the pages of Warnants' own narrative, both physically and metaphorically. The chapters of “Storey, I” advance slowly upwards, sheet-by-sheet; analogous to the floor-by-floor construction of the buildings upon which it is based.
